 Data Analyst - Healthcare - Contractor - Work from Home

 
Position Description
 
This full time contract position involves data integration and manipulation of hospital data (e.g., claims, charges, etc.) using existing SQL/DB and Ruby data importer tools.
 
Technical Skills
 
Candidates should have 2+ years experience in the following:
 
- one scripting languages (Ruby, Perl, PHP, ASP) - preferably Ruby;
 
- one operating system (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux);
 
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience with a relational database is required (Note: You will be tested prior to engagement); and
 
- healthcare experience a plus but not a requirement.
 
Location
 
After an initial 2 week paid training and expenses in Florida, Data Analysts can work from home offices.
 
Compensation
 
Based upon results of your technical skills assessment, Data Analysts earn between $25 and $40 per hour. 40-50 hours per week. Contractors can be paid via a 1099 or B2B arrangement. This opportunity is a 12+ month engagement.

Duties:
Developing and testing of front-end and back-end systems supporting an eCommerce site.
Analyzing business requirements, story-boards and similar artifacts of the scrum process, identify integration points and other interfaces between complex applications, designing and writing software to meet the business and technical requirements.
Working with a software tester to identify and remediate defects within the context of scrum sprint.
Interact directly with business users to gather and analyze business requirements
Code in a Test Driven Development environment
Constantly learn and implement the latest Agile practices such as Kanban, Kaizen
Be involved in all facets of software development from design to implementation
Required Skills:
5+ years’ experience in Java software design and development including J2EE, Ajax, JQuery, SQL, HTML.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight.
Demonstrated ability to work very closely and collaboratively with a small, agile development team.
Working knowledge of Agile
Working knowledge of Test Driven Development
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly fluid environment with quickly changing priorities.
Desired Skills:
Experience working in a scrum or other agile environment.
Experience with development of applications hosted on WebSphere application and commerce servers.
Experience with Drools.
Familiarity with Jira or other code versioning tools.

 The Senior Business Analyst guides project teams in business process analysis and executes the gathering, elicitation and documentation of business requirements for medium size projects and production support. The documentation of these requirements is used by business and technology to understand the business problem. The Senior Business Analyst works closely with technical staff and their application development team and with Testing Services to ensure that the business requirements are understood. A Senior Business Analyst leads small to medium size teams. They may also participate and/or lead project teams in integration and user acceptance testing to ensure the agreed upon solution matches the business requirements. 

Specific responsibilities include:
Requirements Planning " Analyze and identify moderately complex and competing business requirements across business functions. " Drive prioritization of project requirements. " Develop requirements plans and schedules. " Identify subject matter expert resource projects " Act as the liaison between the business and technical teams to articulate business needs and system capabilities. 

" Publish, distribute and ensure sign-off of the business requirement documents. " Communicate with business partners using data and process models to clarify and validate requirements. " Write project documents (e.g., business cases, requirements, test cases, and cost benefits). " Develop business data requirements in the form of business and data models. (i.e. leveraging Visio to document workflows). " Assist with developing and implementing change plans. " Participate in the creation of training plans to implement new skills. " Manage changes to baseline requirements. Process Reengineering " Drive workflow analysis and other business process analysis to identify and clarify requirements. " Conduct business process management analysis to meet business needs. " Conduct current and future gap analysis. " Evaluate organization and stakeholder change readiness. " Identify, manage and recommend business process management improvements. Business Case Development " Interpret meaning and implications of business metrics, data and reports to achieve project goals. " Calculate and interpret key business metrics (e.g., NPV, ROI) for review with project team. " Gather information to support the project team with interpreting financial tools and reports (e.g., profit and loss, CBA). " Develop business benefits realization measures of business cases, with guidance when necessary. " Translate solutions into action plans designed to achieve business goals. " Develop innovative solutions to cross-functional moderately complex problems, taking into consideration day-to-day operating issues. Implementation Support " Coordinate implementation of changes to existing workflows or applications. " Document workflows and participates in walkthroughs. " Review and/or prepare test plans, test cases and scripts for a small-medium sized projects. " Perform user acceptance testing and helps with triage and clarification of issues uncovered in user acceptance testing for the application development teams. Qualifications 

Ideal candidates will possess:
" Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred but not required. " Proven experience as a SME, business/technical resource involving analysis on medium level projects, initiatives or production support efforts. " Experience supporting Investment Management areas including Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Performance and Risk Management. " Experience with system development lifecycle methodology. 

" Experience with the application and user testing process. 

" Experience utilizing MS Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access & Project). " Experience utilizing business metrics. " Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates.
